The Unpossessable Possessor 7
The film machine struggles to possess a soul. Unavoidably, the heavy labour it undertakes to fulfill this desire leads to its opposite: a loss of soul. All ego functions are intact and working, yet there is a loss of a personal sense of being. The sense of “me-ness” is absent and with it a sense of the world. Reality for the film machine becomes a void and an abyss. The film machine is given a choice: to reject the void or to accept the unknowable depths.
