‘Frotting Brienenoord’ documents a series of rubbings performed on the island of Brienenoord in Rotterdam; a semi-wild, post-industrial wasteland where decay flourishes and queers come to engage in decentralised fucking. The video-poem touches upon homoerotic non-penetrative sex acts like docking and frottage, grinding down associations of eroticised violence tied to the masculine and the phallic.
