The Unpossessable Possessor 8
The film machine protects its sense of self by imposing its fantasies and desires on others. It does so to hide the excruciating fear it has of being contaminated by objects and creatures it deems to be impure and irrational. To confront this fear, the film machine must be forced to enact an exacerbation of its antisocial traits. Its objective distance and its delusions of superiority can be pushed to their breaking point by asking it to carry out an impossible task: to tell what happened.
